International symposium on the research into behaviour and ecology
of
aphidophagous insects
This series of symposia has traditionally been seen as a unique
scientific forum for discussions on ecological and behavioural
interactions within this guild. Its focus is to understand how
the spontaneous “natural control” works, with the aim to improve
it. After an initial couple of meetings in the Czech
Republic, symposia were organised in Poland, Hungary, France, Belgium,
Canada/ Quebec and Portugal/Azores. The ninth meeting is to be
held once again in the Czech Republic, and we warmly invite you to
attend.
Date and Venue
September 6-10, 2004, Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic
The Symposium will be held in the lecture halls of the Faculty of
Biological Sciences, University of South Bohemia, on a campus shared
with Biological Institutes of the Academy of Sciences

Institute of Entomology, Academy of Sciences and Faculty of Biological
Sciences, University of South Bohemia. Local committee: Ivo

Presentation of lectures / posters
Sections envisaged: relation to prey/host, intraguild relations,
reproduction, seasonal adaptations, antagonists, efficacy.
Presentations to other topics could be made on posters. The programme
of sections will be made according to the abstracts received. LECTURES: 15 minutes duration,
including time for questions.
Slide and overhead projectors available. You can also use data
projector with computer (MS Windows 98, Office PowerPoint 2000, 3 1/2
inch diskette, ZIP disk, CD-R or CD-RW, and on-line from web; or your
own portable computer). POSTERS
Submission of posters is strongly encouraged. Often the message
of the presentation is thus easier understood and more intensively
discussed. There will be time allotted for discussions on posters.
ABSTRACTS: Please, keep
abstracts not longer than one page A4. Example of heading:
TITLE OF THE PAPER
FAMILY NAME(S) OF AUTHOR(S) PLUS INITIALS OF FIRST NAME(S)
Working place, town, country
Abstracts will be printed in a booklet bearing ISBN
80-86668-02-9. Please, send your abstract by e-mail as plain text
or in RTF, MS Word, WordPerfect version 7. Do not justify the
