Ecology of Aphidophaga

International symposia on the research into behaviour and ecology of aphidophagous insects

This series of symposia has traditionally been seen as a unique scientific forum for discussions on ecological and behavioural interactions within this guild.  Its focus is to understand how the spontaneous “natural control” works, with the aim to improve it.  After an initial couple of  meetings in the Czech Republic, symposia were organised in Poland, Hungary, France, Belgium, Canada/Quebec, Portugal/Azores, Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, Serbia, Germany and Canada. Next will take place in Catalonia, Spain.

Ivo Hodek, the founder of Aphidophaga working group, deceased in June, 2021. European Journal of Entomology publishes special issue devoted to the memory of our teacher.

Related IOBC/WPRS Working Group 'Benefits and risks of exotic biological control agents'
